8-Week Training Plan for Cleft Smiles 5k 2016
The second annual Cleft Smiles 5k is just around the corner! Whether you’re planning to walk or run the 5k, this workout schedule will keep you on track over the next eight weeks to get you in shape and ready for race day.
Go at your own pace for the recommended times and distances, depending on your goal. On “cross training” days, try something new– yoga, tennis, or swimming! On Saturdays, aim for at least twenty minutes of activity, whether it’s from yardwork, shopping, or running after the kids. Mondays and Thursdays are designated as rest days, but considering incorporating a bit more movement into your schedule by taking the stairs or parking farther away– this is especially important if you spend most of your day sitting.
